Structural polymorphism of α-synuclein fibrils alters the pathway of Hsc70-mediated disaggregation

This is a follow-up paper on the Nature paper published in 2020 (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2904-6), for which we contributed NMR data and collaborated with the Bukau lab at Heidelberg University. Back then, the amyloid disaggregation mechanism of the Hrc70 machinery was deciphered with implications in synucleinopathies (e.g. Parkinsons).  In this new article, Anne Wentink (now group leader at Leiden University) with collaborators could show that the disaggregation behaviour depends on the amyloid conformation. Again, we contributed NMR data: https://doi.org/10.1038/s44318-025-00573-3.
